A typical downtown hole in the wall turns into an indie disco dance party most weekends. If you’re there during the week, be sure to bring quarters for the jukebox. Drinks are cheap. Maybe that’s why we keep going back.
This is a location with a spacious environment for the situated drinker, but also a great hangout for the outgoing type looking for a good time. Reasonable drink prices, an attentive staff and 27 TVs create the perfect atmosphere for a game-night hop-in. Poker tournaments on weeknights, live bands on Friday and Saturday, no-cover PPV events and a full food menu.
SA’s chicest gay dance club hosts weekly drag shows, amateur nights, and theme parties set to some of the most up-to-date dance music on the Main strip. The ultra-modern back video-lounge is perfect for watching the circus of twinks, trannies, and muscle-daddies pretending not to notice each other.
Arguably SA’s chicest gay dance club, Heat boasts weekly drag shows, theme parties with touring DJs, and some of the most up-to-date dance music on the Main Strip. VIPs and wannabes can reserve booths, although it’s not necessary to enjoy the chiseled bods on display and too-good-to-be true drink specials.
A young crowd in their best club-wear dance to ridiculously loud Top 40, techno, and an abundance of remixes at this modern, upscale ivory-tinged lounge, where the martinis are flowing and stilettos rule the dance floor. Friday nights win, with no cover and $3 whatever you want all night long.
SA’s first hotel-style rooftop lounge is an official must-see for partyers under 30. You might have to wait in line on a weekend night, but the place honestly looks best before the crowd arrives. Consider arriving early for an outdoor cocktail; if it feels like a good fit, you’ll be in position for a rotating cast of DJs and people watching of the ego-fueled variety. Luxe outdoor furnishings give IVY a slick South Beach vibe, while drink prices fortunately remain within this time zone.
Kickers, classic-rock, and rap coexist happily here, aided by a karaoke-brokered dance floor that's run with flash and authority by Big Tyme's Big Daddy Fred. -- Mark Jones (03/09)
Possibly SA’s most entertaining karaoke spot, Pegasus is also the most foolproof gay
meat market in town. Catch up on danceable music videos in the main bar, or gossip with the drag divas slamming high-octane cocktails before taking the stage elsewhere on the strip.
Everybody really will know your name at this old-fashioned Tejano bar. Best use: unwinding after work with $1.75 longnecks (Tuesdays and Thursdays) or dancing to live music on Fridays.
Featuring upbeat Top 40 music from the 80s to present day, a plush
environment, beautiful go-go dancers, and several VIP areas. Dress code enforced

Resident DJs Eddie and Danny-D welcome freestyle recording artist Noel in a concert featuring the hit "Silent Morning."
On display will be three of Gassiot’s sculptural video installations: Empty Crib, Every Bath, and Circadian Rhythm. Brooke Gassiot is a Texas native, currently based in Austin. Her work has recently been featured in the East Austin Studio Tour, and at the Art Car Museum (Houston, TX) and Red Arrow Contemporary (Dallas, TX). That same evening The Lullwood Studios will host a small works sale in honor of the holiday season—a great opportunity to pick up unique gifts and support your local art community.
Shanavier McLemore along with other local clothing designers present an abstract installation of holiday fashion at this free reception also promising "fabulous foods and festive drinks."
