Lewis Black: Running On Empty Tour
Easily irritated author, actor, and comedian Lewis Black is involved in a very public love/hate affair with America and its politics. The Washington D.C. native found his unmistakable voice as a playwright and emcee at the West Bank Café’s Downstairs Theatre Bar in ’80s-era New York and officially broke out on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show where he developed the recurring rant Back in Black. In keeping with his Grammy-winning comedy album Stark Raving Black and Emmy-nominated special Red, White and Screwed, Black’s election-minded Running on Empty Tour promises audiences “a cathartic release of anger and disillusionment.” Among other projects, Black recently voiced the character of Seamus Romney — a dog strapped to the roof of Mitt Romney’s car — in the book trailer for Dog on the Roof!: On the Road with Mitt and the Mutt.
