"San Antonio Painters II"

Back in April, ARTnews Deputy Editor Barbara A. MacAdam juried and curated “San Antonio Painters,” an exhibition that tasked the revered writer and critic with hand-picking eight diverse local artists (Andrew Anderson, Roberta Buckles, Marcus Garza, Carmen Cartiness Johnson, Elizabeth McDonald, Sammy Velasquez, Sandy Whitby, and Rachel Ziegler) from a pile of more than 130 applicants. Due to the enthusiastic response to Blue Star’s open call for submissions, MacAdam signed on for a sequel. Featuring works by Bryson Brooks, Ana Fernandez, Chrys Grummert, Megan Harrison, Chris Sauter, Corbin Spring, Cornelia White Swann, and Jason Willome, chapter two is poised to upstage the first.
