Vanessa Carlton

Best known for the pop single “A Thousand Miles” from her debut album, Be Not Nobody, Vanessa Carlton is scheduled to make an appearance in San Antonio at Six Flags Fiesta Texas on Tuesday. Carlton was a teenager when renowned record executive Ahmet Ertegun discovered her. Since Be Not Nobody, Carlton has continued to crank out pensive tracks with pleasant melodies. Her latest endeavor is titled Rabbits on the Run. For this album Carlton channeled inspiration from decades past, recording every song direct to tape with a tight-knit bunch of collaborators. She also pulled ideas from Stephen Hawking’s Brief History of Time and Richard Adam’s rabbit society in Watership Down, hence the album title. It seems that Rabbits on the Run is a reincarnation for the artists, reflecting a newfound sense of maturity and delivering thought-provoking songs.
