Friday Night Films in the Park: Red River
The Pearl teams up with Alamo Drafthouse for interactive movie experiences incorporating quote-alongs, contests, and water-gun play in the park. Second in the "Westerns" series is Howard Hawks and Arthur Rosson's 1948 Oscar nominee Red River. Starring John Wayne, Montgomery Clift, Joanne Dru, and Walter Brennan, the film is a Western version of high seas epic Mutiny on the Bounty. Reportedly, the legendary director John Ford was so impressed with Wayne's performance in Red River, he exclaimed, "I didn't know the big son of a bitch could act!"
