Haven't I seen this somewhere before? ...NO, I haven't. At least not in the Current or any of the other local "mainstream' publications where the dance music scene is unfortunately marginalized almost to the point of non-existence. It is therefore a pleasure to find Barrios' piece on TIESTO right where it should be, where it is accessible to EVERYONE. I love that Barrios has his finger on the pulse of popular culture albeit somewhat underground as it may be. Let the music play...God is a DJ!

The dance music scene was DOA for a while when I lived in SA, I'm thrilled that it seems to flourishing anew.

LOL when the reporter says the DJ outside Cowboy's were playing CDs and not vinyl. Only in SA!

I prefer Paul Oakenfold's DJ style to Tiesto. I agree that moving from instrumental mixes to not very original pop ditties will ultimately be his downfall. Look what happened to BT. Still I like the way the music moved from Tiesto on the report to Oakenfold's Madonna mix of Celebrate on the slides.

Oakenfold rules. I can't stop dancing.
